The music category is addressed to classical music composers of any age and background. We are looking for pieces of any kind of inspiration, yet related to St. Joseph or the fatherhood.
The score should be written in a music notation software (Sibelius, Finale, Musescore).
The instrumentation chosen offers you some classical ensembles but also some contemporary one. You can also use their extended techniques. It’s important at the end to have playable music with correct and understandable notations.
Even if not mandatory, an audio file (wav, mp3, midi etc.) is very recommended, as it gives an insight on the music piece.
The notation will encompass the relation and inspiration with and from St. Joseph, the originality, the quality and the rightness of the score, and the possibility to play, among others.
You are also invited to provide a brief description in your application form. Although musics speaks by itself, it would provide useful insight for the jury members.
As a reminder, the participation is anonymous: please do not sign your score.
More information in the entry rules of the contest.
We wish you good luck!
